Zucchini Bread Recipe

We love to bake and there is something so comforting about sweet zucchini bread recipes. This is a surprisingly delicious combination! It is a super simple treat to make with your little ones and enjoy throughout the week.

My son helps me cook most days. He FREAKED out when he saw me put in the zucchini and told me he wasn’t going to eat it. But then it smelled like fresh chocolate chip cookies. That was our saving grace and was the only reason he was willing to give it a try.  He absolutely LOVED it & now it’s a family staple.

Makes 1 deliciously moist zucchini bread loaf!


  • 1½ Cup of flour
  •  ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  •  ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp cocoa powder (this makes the whole thing brown so you can’t see the zucchini bits. In the photo I used a coarse ground raw cacao.)
  •  ½ tsp salt
  • 1 – 1 ½ cups mini chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • 1 cup grated zucchini
  • 1 cup Sugar, Agave or date paste

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees

Grease 1 bread pan or line a muffin pan with paper cups.

  1. Sift together the dry ingredients (except for chocolate chips) in a medium bowl.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together eggs, oil, vanilla sugar and zucchini until combined.
  3. Gradually add in dry mixture and fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes @325 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean.

This easy bread recipe contains zucchini which makes the bread super moist and delicious! Your kids will never know there are veggies in here, unless you tell them!

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 medium bowl
  • Whisk


  • 1 1/2 cups flour try your favorite gluten free flower
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1- 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup sugar for a healthier treat substitute equal parts sugar for agave, maples syrup or date paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup grated zucchini


  • PREP:
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    Grease a bread pan or line a muffin tin with paper cups.
  • MIX:
    In a medium bowl sift dry ingredients together except for chocolate chips.
    In a large bowl whisk eggs, oil, vanilla, sugar & zucchini until well combined.
    Gradually add dry mixture to wet mixture.
    Fold in chocolate chips.
  • BAKE:
    45 minutes @ 325 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean.
